The Sweet Carolina Home

Built sometime between 1937-1941, purchased in the 1990s, this sweet Carolina home is owned by one of my friend’s Aunt and Uncle. Her Aunt and Uncle have enjoyed this home as the only home they have owned in their lifetime. They poured their hearts into this property. They finished the attic and added the dormer windows upstairs. They also added a cottage and workshop on the property. They loved the property because of the history and the nature around the property. Her Uncle is a landscaper by trade. He also built a treehouse for her cousin, and that tree was blown over during the storm. Do you remember the storm that swept through the Carolina’s last Spring? Trees over hundreds of years old fell to the ground around this property due to the high winds and rains that encompassed the storm. Privacy was lost and years of work and so much of what was loved about this property was gone in an instant. Others lost more, and their house survived, hearts remain grateful, but that’s when my friend reached out. She wanted what was lost of be remembered as part of their history, their homes history, and now, because of a sweet little painting, it can be, and it will be cherished on their walls for a lifetime.
