Baby Loading...

We are very excited to announce that we are expecting Baby Lesher number two in June! We will be welcoming another boy into our family and we could not be more excited!

Baby Announcement: Painted Airplanes on Baby Shoes

To announce this sweet Baby loading, I had the idea to paint on a pair of white shoes. Before we knew what the gender of the baby was, I had plans for girl shoes and also boy shoes. Painting these sweet little baby shoes acted as our gender reveal on social media as well as our way to announce the pregnancy to my followers. Once we knew it was a little boy, I was very excited to paint little airplanes on his shoes and come up with a color palette & design for them. I'm not sure why I am drawn to the airplane print for baby clothes right now, but I guess I always had the idea that if we had two boys, I would add airplanes to the boys' room (because my boys are sharing a room). My first son has mountains/moose with a little bit of a classic Maine themed nursery, and I thought antiqued airplanes would fit right in with the color palette and aesthetic, while also adding something new in the room as we introduce the room to a new little one.

As I was painting the shoes, I couldn't help imagine his cute little feet in the shoes this coming Summer/Fall, but I also had several new ideas for painting baby shoes in the future for Baby Shower gifts & other special events. So if you are also getting ideas for some original hand painted baby shoes, please don't hesitate to reach out! I would love to paint a pair for you as well!

NML Maternity Leave

You also may be wondering when my maternity leave will be, or if you've been following along with me since before we had our first son, you know I closed my business entirely to adjust to our growing family and becoming a stay at home Mama. Well, since reopening NML last year and talking with my husband more about growing our little family, we came to the conclusion that for my mental health & to continue to give me an outlet of expression, I need to continue onward the best I can, creating when I can, but without the pressure. We aren't sure entirely what this will look like, but we have peace with our continuation of NML, and we are very excited to show our little boys what their Mama does during nap time, and find new ways to include them in the business the best we can. And to answer your question as to when my maternity leave will be, I anticipate a leave from commissions May through August, and a leave from painting entirely June through August. I will check my email and receive your commission requests throughout the Summer months, especially if they are Christmas Commissions, but I will not be painting any of the commissions until fall. Commission requests can always be sent to my email at info@nicolemaylesher.com or through my contact page.

Slowing Down, More Like Speeding Up

As I have been nesting earlier this pregnancy than my last one, I have actually been painting more and have had a faster turnaround than before. So now through the month of April, I will continue with my commissions and all I had planned for NML in addition to preparing posts for you all to read throughout the months I will be on maternity leave.

I hope you all enjoyed this fun little baby announcement and I look forward to hearing from you in the coming months with all your fun commission ideas!

With love,

The Leshers, Family of 4
